Rock Music Performers
Some very talented individuals helped the Rock Music songs come to life. Chief among them were Diana (Rose) West, Jenessa (Swan) Berg, and Jake Wells. Diana's vocals are prominently heard in several of the songs, and her powerful voice helped make The Rock Cycle the popular song it has become. Jenessa and Jake were only six years old when we recorded the songs, quite an amazing feat by a couple of very gifted kids. Jenessa, by the way, is my daughter, and her sibling Andrew (only four years old at the time!) can also be heard in the background in a couple of the songs. Meanwhile, Matt Price's gruff baritone voice brought Rocky Minéro to life and Onna Quist Oliver's clear soprano helped provide some nice background ambience to a couple of numbers.
Rock Music Producer
I was extremely fortunate to secure the assistance of Douglas Spotted Eagle in producing the Rock Music songs. Doug (or "Spot", as many of his friends call him) is a Grammy Award-winning producer (he won for a separate project just months after we released Rock Music), as well as a recording artist with at least one Gold Record to his credit. It would be very difficult to overstate the impact Doug's generous expertise had on the production quality of these songs.
The National Energy Foundation
Rock Music became a reality because of my employment with the National Energy Foundation (NEF). I originally wrote the songs to accompany a wonderful minerals education program called "Out of the Rock." The learning activities I've included herein (one activity per Rock Music song) were developed by NEF and are used by permission of NEF.
